Overclock 3930K - Page 12

I know that,.. but if I offset to anything below .130 I get that BSOD... I dont know how to fix that
post #112 of 116
i would steer clear of using an offset OC to start with. And at least get it stable with a fixed Vcore.
When you have it stable, then move on to Offset overclocking

Did you reset BIOS to factory settings? Did you still get the freezing issue with it at factory settings?

I had to RMA a Rampage IV board as it had faulty DIMM slotts - no biggy, it does happen, and i still used same ASUS Mobo again, so yer its prob more to do with Newegg than the manufacturer. All have pros n cons, and generally i've read good reviews with AsRock boards...

ps the throttling down to 1200mhz is normal with Intel Speed Step

BSOD MACHINE_CHECK_EXEMPTION - There should be a load of numbers when it says this. Note down the numbers if it does it again, and it will help point you in the right direction. The numbers are specific to certain issues. Sounds like a hardware issue tho. Google the numbers you get on every BSOD (if you're still getting them) and it will give you an idea of where to start..

While ASrock was indeed owned by ASUStek in the past, they've been independent for a while now (there are rumors that Asustek is actually making an offer to buy ASrock back into their fold, but they haven't announced anything yet that I know of).
"ASRock actually started out as an Asus subsidiary. According to a Taipei Times story from 2007, ASRock was established in 2002, "targeting entry-level products to avoid competition with its parent company." As I understand it, ASRock was subsequently spun off, along with Asus' manufacturing operations, into Pegatron. ASRock still offers cheap budget motherboards, but its lineup also includes decked-out high-end offerings with lofty price tags. Example: the Z77 Extreme9, which sells for a whopping $349.99 at Newegg."

Ah.. I see, he did mention he had problems with a Sabertooth X79 before, so I knew what he meant by not touching another Asus board. smile.gif
