Motorola Atrix 4G battery sucks after calibration

Thread Starter
So I calibrated the new battery for the Atrix, and I have it on with screen on lowest brightness, everything off, and the battery drains about a percent every 2.5 minutes.

But whenever it goes down a percent, the time it shows left in this charge increases. at 95% it said 3H 25M, at 92% it says 4H 15M. WHAT?

Can someone tell me he steps to a proper calibration with root, no custom rom?

I can't keep charging my phone every single day. It's no problem, but before the calibration it was stuck on 1% with 100% brightness for 80minutes until shutdown, that seems like A LOT of time to be wasted on the 1% rather than have it calculate it right.

--
--

EDIT:: After 90% the time left started to decrease and each percent seems to last much longer now. But why would the first ten percent go by fast? Also the phone started from 98% rather than a 100%

You cannot calibrate a battery. All batteries in phones have their own chips that record and report the current battery level to the OS, and Android devices are no exception. Even if you rooted and "calibrated" by deleting the batterystats.bin file, all that does is reset what's listed in the battery sub-menu of settings and restarts all the counters.

Also, the first 10% of any battery charge is notoriously unreliable on smartphones. The time remaining is increasing, furthermore, as the algorithm doing the calculation has a better sense of the remaining charge.

Oh okay. Yeah some say it does nothing at all, and some say they have seen extra time on one charge. I don't know until I had to try.

Yeah I guess if that is what is is, than okay. I am going to hate charging the phone everyday. I thought having a smartphone would make things so much easier. But it is a computer pretty much, so it does take a lot of juice.

Are there any extended batteries without it making my phone 5 inches thicker?

So what do roms do really? just like extra stuff for your phone? Because I flashed my atrix with 2.3.6, latest, and I got a soft brick 0x1000, and had to reset the phone.

How did you do it? or were you at 2.3.4?

No i dont have any of those. Its fully stock from factory. I have no choice, motorola locked the bootloader so i cant do anything with the dam phone. When 2.3.6 was released they locked everything down. I hard bricked my first atrix because it was bootloader unlocked and rooted but i didn't have a custom rom on it and i accidentally updated, so i got hard bricked. Once i got my replacement it was already updated to 2.3.6, and does it suck..... I get constant lag, twitching and lock ups.

oh they blocked it for 2.3.6? no wonder I got bricked as well.
you're right, damn motorola...

yeah people complain that it drains the battery a bit quicker. So there is no way to downgrade to 2.3.4, or once you update, you are pretty much chopping your head off?
