Windows Server 2008 - Service Packs and Updates! HALP!!!

Hi,

I have some new servers behind a billion firewalls and no network connections available, but I need to patch and update these servers when security updates are released.

I have done some searching but with no results.

Can I download updates to a share-drive, USB or my latop and FTP to my servers?

Please help!

There are few way to do it

1. Try using software like Belarc Adviser , it scans and give you all missing patch for you Windows OS , so you can manually download each of them in MSI forma , so can deploy them globally or manually in each system.

2. Try AutoPatcher

3. "On the borrowed PC, go to the Microsoft Download Center. Manually select the updates or other files that apply to your own system and save those files to a floppy, flash drive, CD, or other removable medium. Bring the saved files back to your PC and run/install them there by clicking the saved files one by one.

By the way, one of your first downloads should be the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer, a free diagnostic tool that you can download from Microsoft’s TechNet site. The program helps you determine which updates and patches your system needs. " By Fred Langa

Thanks alot!

Belarc listed all of the security patches which is what I was after, and the links to the download centre helped. I can't navigate the microsoft site, always end up at Server 12 or other useless pages...

Now downloading the patches to my workstation, and on my maintenance runs take a USB and patch!!!
