BCLK questions

Thread Starter
Hey all

I have 16 gb vengeance at 1600mhz
i7 3770k
sabertooth z77

when i go into ai suite II, i set the multiplier to 44 and the BCLK to 100.5, with a voltage of 1.230 volts

When i go into realtemp while running Prime 95 blend it reports the BCLK at 103. Is this safe?

thanks

As far as I know, even 103 MHz is safe.  Although, why are you adjusting the BCLK?

yep 103 BCLK is ok, but yeah why did you adjust it? really i would just leave that setting as is unless you are trying to squeeze some more speed out of your OC for benching..

Did you ever use the Auto-tune (or Auto-overclock, or whatever they call it) on the board? If so, that probably changed the BCLK - most of them do. If so, just reloading the BIOS defaults and starting over should fix it.

He is using software.  That's what Ai Suite II is.

I know what AISuite is. I'm asking if he ever used the "automatic overclocking" feature of the software or the BIOS. Where you hit the button and it tries to find an overclock for you. That's what will mess with the BCLK - AI Suite itself doesn't (unless you do it yourself).

Yeah, and he said he set it to 100.5 MHz but it's showing as 103 MHz in Real Temp.

I know, but perhaps the 100.5 he set manually isn't taking for some reason because he used the auto feature at some time in the past, and that setting is over-riding it. Hence my question about whether he ever used the feature - the Asus version is well know to push the BCLK.

Using AI Suite to set the overclock is not the same as using the auto-overclock feature, which is why I was asking.

Well, if you know it is not the same, why do you keep going on about it? Just let him answer the question.
