I think i does, but you may not notice. It has the say affect as the TV in the store. You can compare the screen quality at the store, but almost anything will look good on the wall at home. Somewhat the same with SSD's - you can look at all the charts in the world and compare specs, but sometimes it feel a bit like the same. Though I recommend it very much for some program, games etc. The Samsung 830 would be an excellent choice. As for the other components you could just change the mobo with the Asus p8z77 Pro and the graphics card with a non-reference one.

Anyways, the build I presented above shows excellent value, and you would get decent gaming performance out of the budget you have. thumb.gif

Hm... Thanks for the tips ^^ What would be an nvidia equilivent of the referenced gpu?

i7 had Hyperthreading AND 2MB more cache (8MB vs 6MB). Unless you plan to do video editing, go for the i5. I do editing (For youtube, but still) but I can;t stomach teh extra for the i7. The equivalent to the 7850 is the GTX660.

I think I'll be going for the GTX 670 , which version of this gpu would you recommend? I would also like to know if this rig would fit in any cooler master case?

Also , the how much can I push with this psu? Would I need a higher rating psu for better oc capabilities or would I hit the maximum oc with this psu?

Somewhat every ATX tower case out there can hold this rig and proberly whole lot more, like CFX/SLI, big tower air-coolers etc.

If we are talking Cooler Master, something like the Elite 430 for budget would be excellent, but other like HAF912 or Scout II would also fit your needs. Personel favorite among the CM and my suggestion if you want to spend a little more the Cooler Master HAF XM.

i5 2500k $200
ASUS P8Z77-V LK $115 w/ rebate
Gigabyte HD 7870 $240(almost on par with a 670 and $100 cheaper)
Rosewill Capstone 650-M $110 (fully modular drool.gif)
CoolerMaster Storm Scout Mid ATX $65 after promo
8GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1600MHz $40
CoolerMaster Hyper 212 $32

this is my suggestion

Edit: you could probably get a cheaper GPU like a 7850 if your budget has to be below $1000, and perhaps a cheaper PSU so you can afford an SSD as well

I'm kind of a nvidia fanboy so I would prefer to take the 670 or 680 over it's amd equlivent. I am asking about the case as I have a spare case lying around in my house. I'll check what model is it once I return home from overseas. Since I have 2 recommendations , I'll think about it and see which I'll follow. If i remember correctly both the 3570k and 2500k uses the same 1155 socket right? Probably will mix and match whatever is cheaper where I can cheap out on.

So I though I would screw the budget and let it only be a rough guide of what I'd like to spend. So around the $800 area.

Yes the 3570K and 2500K are both 1155, the 3570K is Ivy Bridge whereas the 2500K is Sandy. The reason I recommend the 2500K is that it's cheaper and can clock higher (whilst clock for clock it is minimally slower). Plus in my opinion it's an easier overclocker.

nVidia counterpart of the 7870 would be the 660 Ti most likely.
