[recombu] Exclusive: Apple iPhone 5 touchscreen glitch discovered by developer, we go hands-on

We came across a tweet from UK-based games developers CMA Megacorp, who made mention of an issue they’d encountered with Apple’s iPhone 5. The glitch which as far as we’re aware hasn’t previously been spotted by anyone, manifests itself as a dropout of touch input when quickly scrolling diagonally across the screen.

Why they feel the need to tag it as Exclusive I don't know. Sure this is a bug but if it's as bad as they make it out to be would it not have been picked up by now?

Just seems that because it's Apple, a big deal must be made rolleyes.gif

Edit: After reading a few comments it looks as though most people thought it was them doing it wrong (See 'Your holding it wrong' haha)

But a couple also state that it's based purely on individual apps and not all of them so at this point it looks like it's software based meaning an easy enough fix thumb.gif

Interesting.... Could be an issue if it's hardware related but if it's software I'm assuming it'll be patched soon. I can't really think of any reason why I would need to rub my finger diagonally across my phone's display continuously at that speed for multiple seconds though.

I've played Fruit Ninja. Admittedly, only for a short while, but I don't remember having to move like what was shown in the video...

Besides, don't you think all the people playing Fruit Ninja on their iPhone 5 would have reported touchscreen issues by now if this was really a problem?

It's software that attempts to offset someone holding the device by the screen. can easily be turned off.
