Has anyone tried or can anyone guess if these will work together. I have an Asus HD 6850 so it is not quite the reference design but the holes and I think the VRM Matches up on it. For 50 bucks from PPC. Its almost worth trying!!

I don't know about the first block but the second one will certainly fit, I've had it on a gigabyte 6850 which had the same gpu/vram layout as your card. Also the temp never went above 46C even when clocked @ 915/1050 (24/7).

PS: If you have 2x6850 as described in your details, i would suggest holding on to them at least for few more months.

Few more months? I was hoping a little longer I can play any game detailed with high FPS. I was hoping for maybe another year, especially if I want to water cool them. What did you use to cool the VRM? what heatsinks?

It was more a figure of speech the few months part. 2x 6850 offer great performance imo.

My HD6850 is able to run mostly any game in high settings. Battlefield 3 around 50-60fps on ultra. I got my Sapphire o'ced to 850 MHz core (unfortunately restricted) and 1200 MHz RAM. Voltage 1,175v.

Thing is, on the first mount I had some problems, waterblock didn't fit right, board got bend a bit and the temperatures where over 60°C even with a low water temp (25°C). Messed a bit with the screw strength and refitted the block. Now I'm running around 50-60°C when my rig was up for quite a while (water temp 35°C+).
