Just beat me to it.... the rumors were true.... 7.1B transistors, 384-bit bus, 2688 cores.

The "passive" cooling surprised me a bit.... but these will be going in cases with high-speed fans.

Also interesting: "Interestingly NVIDIA tells us that their yields are terrific – a statement backed up in their latest financial statement – so the problem NVIDIA is facing appears to be demand and allocation rather than manufacturing."

Sorry to leave so much out of the OP but Im trying to get people to read the full article. Lots of good information thumb.gif

GK110 sounds like a really good chip and a lot of work went into it. Heres to hoping for a Geforce part drool.gif

225W is not really going to be passively cooled in a double PCIe slot. The GPU heatsink will be rely on the chassis's airflow. If you can find the specifications, it should state the minimum CFM required to operate the card.

If this ever manages to make it to being a consumer graphics chip, AMD will have several problems to deal with. XD Even if something like this were to cost around $800 a pop, it'd be VERY worth it if you asked me. biggrin.gif
