Truecrypt put my HDD in the crypt ....

Hay guys
a while ago i bought a WD black 500gb drive , i was using it as my system drive and i encrypted it with truecrypt. The MBR was buggered as it showed the error "missing operating system" on boot . Due to a recent move i was unable to find the recovery disk although i have backups so no worry about data loss . now i tried to format the drive in windows (Windows xp) cashed windows , boot and nuke ( bus error after 0.17% complete, and now always errors) The drive dosnt always show up in DSKman or in explorer . i am stuck for ideas completely . anyone go anything on this ?

Sounds failing.
I'd run something like SeaTools against it and see what happens.

Sounds like perhaps your drive was already failing? Encrypted volumes go completely crazy far quicker than unencrypted ones. They work fine on drives in good health, but the error messages are crazy on ones that aren't.
