Wasn't sure if I should put this in hardware or software news because they will be unveiling new hardware and new software.

My guess is the phones will go on sale a week or two after. RIM will probably buy some Super Bowl ad time. I was going to get the N4 but I am going to wait and see what RIM has to offer before I make my choice.

I truly believe both will.
I have watched and followed both of these companies (Windows 8 and RIM) and I feel they both will make some solid ground. Most of this, I really believe is going to come from iPhone users as well as picking up the new to smartphone market too.

If people haven't looked into BB10 closely, you are doing yourself an injustice by not checking it out, hardware and software wise, they really are making a huge leap from where they were. I would put them right up where the new OS/Hardware stuff from the other main players too.

Specs wise, the new BB10 touchscreen phone is essentially identical to the Optimus G, only a battery capacity of 30% more..... And the BB OS is very well optimized.

If I could convince my wife to wait until it launches, we would probably hold off on getting a couple of Lumia 920's.

Must be American. I live in Canada, still a few around here but they are declining in numbers.

Here is a pic of the new only touch screen phone next to iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 appears to have a case on.

BB is still around, yes. I see people, young and old with them on a not rare basis.
The current devices are way behind yes, but the new BB10 devices really look promising.

You can't really deny that either, unless you think that a Optimus G is a lame spec'd phone....
BB's build quality is much better than LG and the phone has almost identical specs to the LG phone. The BB10 OS "looks" good, but I would want to play with it before I say my final opinion.

Personally, I hope BB makes it. The more competition there is in the smartphone market, the better we all are.
I think they are getting this to the market about 4 mos too late though. iPhone has hit a large number of the people upgrading as well as the W8P devices. When you add what the GS3 (and the other Android devices) did these past 5 mos with everything else, there really is a large number of people that simply aren't in the market for a new device when BB hits.

RIMM still offers the most secure phones and partners with governments & corporations. Blackberry 10 looks very promising; there are some software tricks that I've never seen in a cell phone.

Has the GS4 been confirmed with a release date set? Last I heard they were still just rumors.

Even with the hardware listed for the flagship device, it wont be outdated like devices released before from RIM. How many devices now have an S4 quad, 2g of ram, and a 2800mah battery?
There aren't so many that it will be considered outdated really.

I like BlackBerry and would be interested in their new phones but I'm going to be buying in the next week or two and can't wait that long for them to release something.
