I am sure you know how to find the fps increase((.16 * 30.2)+30.2) and that ties it with the 7970 ghz.

very crude method. and your numbers are wrong.

"Battlefield 3: Performance increased by 13% at 1920x1080 when using Ultra settings in a single-player Paris benchmark ; at 2560x1600 an improvement of 7.9% was recorded. Using High settings, an improvement of 15.3% was registered at 1920x1080.

AMD's 12.11 BF3 performance improvement was 10 - 30% depending on the map and exact test scenario.

No problem. just loaded up BF3 and I am in the mid 90's where I used to be in the upper 80's!

It's the holy grail of driver improvements right now. I'm sure some of the tuning is engine-wide, but I'm pretty sure that there's additional tweaking going on specifically for BF3. I am not an expert on this, though.

I'd love to see new reviews with these. Performance improvements are always good.

Crude method? I used the 5760*1080 numbers, and you are right I didn't see 13%, I used 16%.
Even if I use 13%, it still brings it into margin of error vs the 7970. But we will see when reviews are out because I loaded up BF3 myself and see 3-6 fps gains.

are those drivers worth the hassle of installing on 600 series cards? former WHQL was very buggy (e.g. weird clocks, stuttering, etc.)

The 12.11 AMD drivers showed roughly the same gains on BF3 and MOH... so there's no reason why Nvidia could not do the same, especially as MOH is newer and would not have as much optimisation code as BF3 would anyway.

The performance gain is measured in a particular map . from your own experience of upper 80s to mid 90s its looking like less than 10% at 1080p. Also it reduces from 13% at 1080p to 7.9% at 1600p. But I agree after 310.54 that at 1080p both cards will be very close.
