Seagate 2TB Barracuda

Anyone have this drive? Im looking for a new HDD which is going to be primarily used for recording gameplay and then storing a few files. Is this a good HDD as i was originally looking at the WD 1TB Caviar Black but for the same price i saw this HDD which is double the size and from what i can see there isn't a major difference in the two or maybe im missing something.

Any help would be appreciated.

Differences are:
WD Black is faster in read/write speeds
WD Black has 5 years warranty vs 3 for the Seagate.

Either way you should be okay as long as you don't buy green drives.

[EDIT] That Seagate has pretty bad reviews on newegg: Link

Most people have an irrational hatred toward Seagate for reasons unknown.

Caviar Blacks are some of the nicest drives you can buy, but really, just go for the biggest size with the longest warranty for the lowest price. And ALWAYS keep your important things backed up on an external drive.

Follow these steps and you'll never have to worry about buying a "bad" drive.

Will the speeds make a huge difference when recording gameplay? Will the quality decrease or something like that. Just want to make sure i choose the correct drive before i spend £70.

I own 2 of them and haven't had any issues. If you haev a lil change, I'd go with the black drives because of the longer warranty. Thats just me.

EDIT

Sorry, I read wrong. Go with the 2tb if you need the storage.

I will say this, I have owned Seagate, Samsung, and WD. The ONLY drives to have every died on me were from newegg and it were 2 samsung & western digital drives. Both Seagate drives i have bought locally(best buy and independent store) are still going strong.
