Crosshair V Formula-Z Q-Code does not change.

So I bought a Crosshair V Formula-Z for my new rig. Today when I started to try to setup everything, as it would not give the monitor an input before, it had the same error code "50." In the manual, it says this means Memory Initialization Error. Invalid Memory type or incompatible memory speed.

And so, I checked every RAM slot with the same error, used 2 different brands, G.Skill and Patriot, 2133 and 1866 each, but neither works.

Furthermore, even with no RAM in the slots, I still discovered it still gives the same error.

Any clues?

Could it be defective?

Having same issues except ram at 1600mhz let me know if you fix it!

I just finished building a system using the ASUS Crosshair V Formula motherboard and 16 GB Ballistix Crucial ram. (two 8GB chips) Since my local supplier did not have any 8GB per chip ram that was listed as compatable with the CH V Formula mb I had to take what was avilable. The Crucial memory was my second try, and not listed. I was able to get telephome support from Crucial at no charge and they checked while I was waiting on the phone, took them 10 min to check, so it was not a stock answer, and came back with a "yes, it was compatable" answer. The memory does work fine. This it the best support and quickest answer I have ever had out of a mamory manufacturer, and I will use them again. The price of the memory was good also.

try the mem ok button. when i put my hypers in my board it only recognised 1 stick in windows but 2 in the bios.
i shut down pressed mem ok button and hey presto they worked

Hey all, when i recieved my formula-z it had 0508 bios i believe. I ezflash'd in the bios to the newest bios option and my 2400ghz ram runs and reads. Although I have my gskill sticks running at 2133 at 9-10-9-25 timings at 1.7v. Here is my ram...

Hi guys! I just finished building my first gamer computer using an Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z with the same 2400ghz ram than yours, sgtgates. When I turn on the PC, it turns off after few seconds showing q-code 50. So, if you please, could you tell me, step by step, how do you ezflash your bios? Thanks in advance and please apologize my english.

The 50 code is a RAM related error code, either your RAM isn't compatable, it's running at an incorrect speed or something.
You can find the error code list in the manual and yes, that one is in there, anything from 50-53 is a RAM related error..
