My internet+network icon on Win.7 show active but I can't get online or view webpages!

Hey guys, I have had my sig. rig up for about 1year now and I game a lot in Battlefield 3 (pc) all the time.

I have a motorola DSL modem with 6mbps down and .768mbps up via ATT. I am attached to a NETGEAR WNR2000 router.

Lately, the icon for internet + my network shows ACTIVE if you go to "Network & Sharing Center".

However, I won't WON'T be able to view web pages or game or ANYTHING!

It's really ANNOYING and I THINK my brother is messing with the router because his computer is also running through the router.

I am on LAN port #2, he is on LAN port #3 on the router.

If I am on ventrilo, teamspeak, mumble or some online voice software playing Battlefield 3, my friends voices start to get really CHOPPY, and I that tell's me the internet is about to go out.

Like I said, all the icons show up, but I get errors via firefox or google chrome about "WEBSITE NOT RESPONDING" or "PROBLEM WITH DNS SERVER"

It's almost like he is blocking/limiting my connection somehow.

I do not have a static IP at the moment, but when I did, the same thing happened.

Please help me....

I'm not sure whether he did anything at all....

All I know is that my internet is NOT working the same it did just 1-2 weeks ago.

And he has been coincidentally messing around with the router I noticed so that's why I "hypothesized" he somehow altered the settings to limit my speed or something via some software/program.

The funny thing is that I HAVE QoS enabled for this computer (my main rig). I have it set to #1 priority with 512kpbs uplink bandwidth, so the highest priority is reserved for me.

I don't know what is going on, but every 30min or so, I will start losing internet connection and NO pages will load, but the icon for NETWORK & INTERNET show that they are connected & active.

I had some DNS server error as-well, so I'm not sure what is going on.... it's really annoying and the ONLY fix I have at the moment is to log onto the DSL MODEM page and RESET the modem from the ATT MOTOROLA page. It will work for maybe 15-30min then the problem starts again and I have to do it again.

Still not sure if it's the router or Modem or something he did, but I re-installed the firmware for my NETGEAR WNR2000 as-well.

any ideas?
