Werid nose coming from MSI 6950

I have a MSI Twin forozr 2 And it makes this werid Wine kind of nose when playing a game i know its not the fans and i know its coming from the GPU its a little less then a year old Should I RMA?

its coil whine happens with all gpus sometimes usualy happens if your playing at really high fps capping the fps to around 60 fixes it sometimes. My 7970 does it when in menus of some games where its doing 1000s of fps but thats the only time i hear it.

I have Dead Island Capped at 60 and it wines in the Menu Its really annoying Since its On a lab bench is there anything i can do about it?

hmm maybe cap it lower or maybe the cap does not work in the menus.

Coil whine usually occurs when the GPU has to render a lot of frames per second under slight or heavy load. We are talking about 1000+ FPS in some game menus. I have heard that if you let the game stay in the menu overnight for 4-5 days the noise becomes less noticeable, sometimes it even disappear completely after some weeks use. Try that. thumb.gif

I think most high-end graphics cards like to to buzz a bit. biggrin.gif

i gotten used to it i just turned the fans up a bit.
