Hey I am a pc gamer and I really need to upgrade my cpu and mobo. I really dont want to spend much money. I just want to buy some time until I build a completely new desktop.
My current specs are:
XFX MBN790IUL9 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra
Core 2 duo e8400 overclocked to 3.6ghz
CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
1 x SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5"
CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI
evga gtx570 2.5gb ddr5
I feel like i should have just rebuilt a computer from scratch. When i built the computer in 2008 I took care to buy quality components and match up the clock speeds for the ram and cpu.
I am having problems with newer games frame rates like CS GO on servers with 30+. I am having problems with choppy gaming. My cpu temps stay around 42 c idle and don't really get above 65c.
I was leaning towards getting
ASUS M4N98TD EVO AM3 NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
and
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
for around ~200 including shipping.
Does anyone have any suggestions. I haven't gone with amd in forever but i feel its the best bang for my buck.. I also feel like i might be overbuying on the mobo. I just dont feel that any of the cheaper ones seem to be built well. Any suggestion would help. I'm really just looking for the best bang for my buck. any help would be greatly appreciated.
