Sorry I wrote the wrong item down. I fixed the correction. But the drm thing is activation of product. But take a few mins read the posts and you will get an idea of what people are QQin about.

But basic jifts is that you have to download there new software that will store your gaming profiles on there server. And in doing so you must be connected to the internet just to use the profiles. While at the same time people have found out with the program is basically spyware that will datamine you tracking and what programs you run. So out of the box the mouse will only work at stock levels. You can not tweak the dpi or anything else till you activate your profile and connect to the internet. while at the same time you cant change anything unless you connect and use there program. And the program runs kinda heavy. So older pcs get bogged down when using this software.

If that is true, that is disgraceful.

One more thing if you update to the latest firmware your stuck with synapse 2.0 you cannot downgrade!

Boycott Razer, because that's a new level of silliness. I am lucky Synapse doesn't support the Diamondback.
You should have also searched this forum for the Imperator (2012). Not that the sensor is bad by default but to reduce jitter on soft mousepads they activated some nasty positive acceleration.

Seeing that the Imperator actually has onboard Synapse memory all the DRM thing is a non-issue basically...unless I'm missing something here.

I'm also using this mouse, had the old version too, tried a lot of different mice but kept coming back to this one, the feel is excellent, and the 4G 2012 version actually has some nice cosmetic changes to accommodate my sweaty hands. I'm not the pickiest when it comes to sensors since I don't play FPS. Instead I play RTS games that last up to 40 mins straight, so comfort for extended use is more crucial.

The other mice have onboard memory too, they're just not used properly.

Just an update chaps...

My Imperator arrived, plugged it in and it works seamlessly OOTB.
Even the DPI buttons work without the need for Synapse 2.0.

I agree about the feel. I have sweaty palms when I game too and this thing really helps my condition (hyperhydrosis).

Will install Synapse later and let you know what I think.
