Another 670 2gb vs 7970 vs 670 4gb thread with some stats

Thread Starter
Hi guys I am having trouble deciding if I should upgrade my GPU.

I recently upgraded my monitor to a 27 inch 1440p IPS .

I am currently gaming on my Gtx 670 FTW which is clocked @ 1270 core and 7450 mem fully stable in games I can bench higher but that is not stable.

My games are not really as smooth as I supposed to be even with the overclock on both the CPU and the GPU . Battlefield is really demanding on ultra mad.gif I haven't tried any other games as of now but I suspect this will be the more demanding game right now right ??.

Should I consider upgrading my card to the 670 4gb or the 7970 ???

I really don't know how my overclock compares to a 7979 overclock any insight on this ??? Or should I just tune down some settings and not aim for the ultra ??

Any advice would be appreciated thanks a lot

The 7970 can be as much as 20% faster than the 670 in BF3 and this is with the latest drivers for both cards. Both overclocked assuming no lemons, the 7970 will run away.

Having said that, I do not think it is worth the switch. If you want BF3 to run perfectly smooth at 2560x1440 on ultra, you should consider 670 SLI thumb.gif

Try driver 310.54 Beta... There are many users reported 10 fps higher with it.

OP the GK110 based Teslas are out. You can wait for 2 - 3 months to pick a Geforce GTX 780 or GTX 770 based on that chip. its looking like a true performance beast.
