Someone on CL is selling a used pair of rp 21s I heard good things about them, but bad things as well (comfort). Should I jump on it?

Comfort can be solved by bulking up the pads. ( I stuffed mine with cat5 cables, never had an issue with the headband )

As far as sound, they are great until you break them in. They get a little muddy afterwards.

But for $30 I think they are well worth it.

So they sound worse after breaking them in? That seems a little strange. Can you explain please? thumb.gif

Its just one of those things I experienced with the pair I had. They seemed to have gotten muddy as time went on.

I had a pair of Ultrasone proline 750's at the time. The EA's seemed to be at t he time a good alternative to take out and give a beating if you found them at a good price. After a while I just stopped wearing them. Bass had become lackluster and highs weren't as sharp. They sounded better out of the box is really all I could say.

Mine were also about $100. I think if I had paid $30 I wouldn't have been so dissapointed after the break in.
