Nope, I guess someone that Bkwasny likes is enjoying that 550D.

You seem to have forgotten the PM where I said we were working on finding a solution and would give you cash value for the prize if we couldn't find it with FedEx. We had small prizes leftover, and those must have been sent to you (and possibly others) as a bonus.

I apologize for not staying in better communication, but you must understand that I receive an exceptional volume of communications through the site on a daily basis, and for better or worse, some of them must be prioritized over replies of "sorry, no news to share, I will update you when we know more". I'd budgeted time to take care of this tomorrow, but had to adjust when I saw your post.

Despite accusations that one of our account managers was pilfering goods from members, I'm still willing to hold up the offer to replace the prize with its cash value. Please PM me your PayPal address, and perhaps consider a more tactful approach to getting resolution for a situation in the future - others may not be as gracious as I am with honouring my word when accusations start being slung about the integrity of our team.

I'm really glad you just said all that - they are really biting the hand that feeds here.

Not everyone has an insane rig like you. biggrin.gif

I get the frustration of winning a prize then unforeseen circumstances preventing you receiving it, but you do have to remember it's something free you're getting rather than something you've paid money for, so you don't have as much to argue with over how the gift is provided to you.

Also the fact that it's essentially a freebie means OCN is under no obligation to actually send you the right prize if it's not feasible to facilitate delivery. In fact, AFAIK they aren't under any obligation to give anyone anything. tongue.gif

However if you are dissatisfied with your prize, I can think of lots of people who would be willing to take the stuff off your hands. thumb.gif

Hope it gets worked out. smile.gif

Thanks Paradigm. Yea the Stallion has some nice hardware. tongue.gif The whole point is not so much the dissatisfaction, its more of disappointment and frustration. Yes its a free prize, and its way cool. OCN for the most part is exemplary on what is done here. But its the integrity of how you handle the mistakes that counts. Its what separates the vendors we choose to do business with, with the ones we dont. I would have been ok if I were informed from the beginning that a mistake was made and they would need to substitute the prize for something else. I would have expected that. But, thats not what happened. First off I was put off, then given less than honest information. Whether intentional or not, then it was pressed forward with cryptic answers only when exposed. I am sorry if it has ruffled some feathers and made to seem like I am ungrateful. But sometimes this has to happen to institute change. Most of all, I am not ungrateful, and I think OCN is the most awesome forum on the net. Thats why I am holding it to a higher standard than the rest and being so persistent for straight forward answers. The one outstanding question is what happened to the 550D that was supposed to be shipped, and why was I told that it was shipped and delivered (like I was trying to scam a prize), when the tracking clearly showed that it wasnt. And then nothing was getting done until I made it public. I know Chipp has his hands full and seems like a stand up guy, and he relies on his staff for a lot. So it shouldnt be me getting the flaming arrows, but those who dropped the ball. They should be the ones on this thread stating in all honesty what happened and how they are going to fix it. Not so much the prize, but the process. I run a business and have things shipped out too. When I do, I get a tracking number emailed to me, and then I forward that to the recipient. Just takes a minute. I also have a manager, and he is up front with me, so when I have to deal with a situation like this, I have all the facts and can take care of it in an expedient manner. I also double check all the info to make sure it is correct. I have spoken to a friend who has 100s of contests a year and he has never had a problem like this. He did say that I have let my agitation show in my posts, and he is correct. So I do apologize if it has offended anyone. But the facts and the problem still needs to be addressed.

From what I've read, it seems that the carrier should be carrying the burden of the blame, not any staff on here, it seems like they were telling you what they knew and trying to help resolve the issue despite all the misinformation from the carrier.

With the sheer volume of stuff being shipped out to the winners, and the way carriers can be a lot of the time, I think something like this was to be expected and those involved have done everything I would expect them to in regards to getting you a prize.

But that's just my two cents.

I would agree, but it wasnt the carriers fault. Unless you mean the shipper, in that case I agree. I had called FedEx when I had a tracking number and they gave me the straightest answer. They received a shippng label, but no package. When I relayed this info, I was told it was shipped and delivered by one source, and that FedEx was holding it by another. The source of the problem is with the shipper. I feel Chipp was only relaying to me what he was being told by the shipper. As for volume, Huddler Inc should have had no problem handling it in a professional manner. Thats what they are getting paid for.
