[Guru3D] Call Of Duty Black Ops II VGA Graphics performance review - Page 18

The nerfing of the split screen is my biggest gripe with BLOPS 2 right now. And probably not gonna get over it.

It's the worst playing zombies split screen. You can still see whats going on in the blurry grey bars on the sides? ***?

Really great idea, like screen space wasn't sparse enough playing split screen. Now they made it worse.

My 6970 copes perfectly with this game? Which drivers are you using?

I've not played a COD game since MW1. I am thinking of getting this. You guys happy with the pc version? Not buggy, stable, online works ok etc etc?

I haven't played a COD game on my PC since call of duty 2, the graphics were mighty impressive on my 7800GT though biggrin.gif
I just remember the campaign was amazing, really felt like you were a part of history, seems like nowdays they just slap together a 5 hour campaign with a few levels.

I buy almost every major FPS release solely for the single player campaign. Been doing so for nigh unto 10 years now. Money is no object cuz games ate cheap if you have a real job. You were saying?

If you can't comprehend why someone wouldn't want to grind through 500+ hours of repetitive online play, but prefers instead to engage in an actual narrative while he plays, this post is for you!

I'm a campaign only player as well(for the most part). I sometimes play the MP for very short amounts of time, but either don't have the time for hours of MP or get bored of it very quick. I hate that they are lowering the length of SP campaigns on almost every subsequent new game in a series in lieu of MP. I have no qualms with people that play only the MP, but wish they wouldn't skimp on the SP portion as much. For this reason, I usually stick to RPG type games these days. Skyrim was a godsend.

The last CoD I bought was original Black Ops on release night. Played through the SP in one sitting and vowed to never buy another game in the series again. My last one before that was CoD 4 and its campaign was longer or at worst the same length. I see no reason to buy another CoD just for MP when that portion of the game hasn't changed all that much, other than some minor additions that are not worth paying for IMO. Not bashing by any means, simply an opinion of the whole series since 4.

The MP is a fun game to play. I've not played a COD game in the last few years and was pleasantly surprised how much fun MP game is. The MTAR just wasn't adequate for me. It wasn't until I unlocked the Type 25 did I feel that I was on par with everyone else in the game. I wish I could change the Custom 1, 2, 3... though. The FOV is limited to 80 but it will be changed in a future patch. There was a patch released on release and yesterday so I don't think it will take long.

The game is suppose to use dedicated servers but you don't choose them. You are matched up to 12 other players so far. However you can play as many as 18 when solo'ing with bots. Most players do stay for more then 2 matches. You have to pay close attention to your Nat status though. You may also want to change your Search mode from Normal to Best while in the Playlist screen (hit the S button).

You have the option to play something called strike force mode through replay mission section of the SP. Which allows you to switch between FPS and ordering your squad via map view. Pretty neat.

Game looks and runs great. Only the cutscenes are somewhat blurry.
