I am tempted to build my own SATA cables, based on this reddit post.

But the power cables are easy to make, and there is a wide range of power connectors to choose from out there. For me it's the SATA cable I have trouble with, and have bought all sort of length and styles to try and get it right.

I don't think I'll build my own data cables. Power cables, perhaps...

I am missing two of the bolts for the hard drive mounting.

Do you have spares please?
nope, they were exact for mine.

caselabs did short-ship me one MAC-101 drive mounting screw, though.

check around for Lian-Li part #OH-01

cheers,

R.

Contact Lian Li customer service. They'll probably send them for free.

I shall keep that in mind for next time. Since my post, I bought some from Cooler Guys for $10.49.

Hello everyone,

I think I'm going to pick up the PC-D8000 for a home server.

I am looking to build a home server as a huge media hub (hundreds of Blu-Ray movies, tens of thousands of songs) and a number cruncher for small-scale machine learning. Will probably expand to use the entire available HDD space and will also be using 1 or more high-end video cards for machine learning (probably starting with a single GTX 1080).

Do you guys have any recommendations for the build? I'm actually hoping to avoid water cooling. I am worried about what PSU I can use to support such expansion, as I've read that some are using dual PSUs with this chassis. I'm also curious how to handle that many drives with the limited inputs of available motherboards. This is also a concern for RAM, as I would ideally like to expand to over 100GB of RAM in time.
