[Build log] Core 1000 build

Thread Starter
This being my very first build, i thought it couldn't hurt to share it as i go, and perhaps to help me with some potential problems i might be running into. The idea would be to pack a powerhouse in this small case.

System specs:

Case: FD Core 1000
GPU: GTX 680 Lightning
CPU: i5 3570k
RAM: 2x4GB 1600MHz Ripjaws
MoBo: Asus Maximus V Gene
HDD's: 120Gb PNY Pro and 500Gb WD Blue
Cooling: Antec H2O 620 w/ NF-F12's in push-pull and Noctua NF-B9 casefan as exhaust.
PSU: Silverstone Strider 750w Gold evolution, perhaps for adding a second 680 in the future tongue.gif

I'll be posting more info and pics of the process tomorrow. I have now installed all but the graphics card and the hdd's, which however was enough for me to test the rest of the system. But for now i need to get some sleep, but i'll be posting pics later and after that proceed with the rest of the system. thumb.gif

Looking forward to some pictures, I love my Core 1000 build, link in my signature.

I love seeing other core 1000 builds as in my mind it's not an enthusiast case at all, but in the right hands, can look stunning.

Sorry for the wait, but now that i've returned from work, i'll be uploading the pics, and after that pounce back on to the core 1000 to install the GTX 680, hdd's and most importantly to tidy up the insides!
All the goodies (Click to show)

A big card for such a small case, but it fits!

Had some difficulties to get the case's screw holes to allign with the PSU's and i had to use some force to get it screwed in.

Up and running! (Click to show)
I was running late last night, but i managed to get it.. sort of together. The core temps were below 30 C in bios when the fans were running at 500-1000RPM.

I'll have to leave the cable management for tomorrow, but will check in here with final pics once finished.

Finished it, and i must say i really like the way it turned out. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

My old P180 on the left for size reference. rolleyes.gif

EDIT: The 680 really warms up the case while under load and according to speedfan the case temperature nearly reached 40 C, all though at the time i only had the frontal fans spinning at 50% and the exhaust 92mm on 12V. The CPU and GPU temps on the other hand were relatively low, around 55 and 60 for the GPU.

I'm guessing he drilled holes in the hard drive bay to mount it on rack
