if you want an iphone anything, just get the iphone 4......nothing has changed really, just a few pixels and an extra core -_-

(obviously over exaggerating.....but pretty much true)

Between those two Nexus 4.

But I wouldn't limit myself to either phones, they are unfortunately both inferior to other phones coming out now or in the next few months.

If I got an iPhone (lol, yeah right) it would be the 4s. It seems to be the best one for the value, IMO.

Again, I too would get the nexus 4 in comparison to the iPhone 5. The HSPA+ speeds in my area are actually pretty descent. They average 5mb/s+ up and down. Which is fine for full websites, not to mention fast for mobile web pages..

I have an iPhone but that's cause i got it for my birthday, Although it's not as bad once jailbroken, I wouldn't recommend it. I'm just waiting till my contract is over so I can get an android or possibly windows phone.

Choose whichever one you like the look and feel of the most, they're not running the same operating system so a direct comparison isn't that easy. There are a lot of Android Sheep on this forum and there is a lot of Apple hate so It would be better to make the decision for yourself for this one.

Honestly though by the way your wrote everything out it seems like you want to go the Android route but arent sure, so I would say go that route. I just couldnt because I wouldnt want to lose LTE but I wouldnt be looking at the nexus 4 anyway. I would probably get the gs3 or similar.

I do want to go the Android route, but at the same time I've never had have any real complaints about iOS (except Flash, but Android's lost that advantage...) - the iPhone is one of the few expensive gadgets I own where I've never felt buyer's remorse. In fact, the main reason why the Nexus 4 appeals to me is its low cost and commitment - if it turns out I still don't like Android, I can always switch back to an iPhone 6 or whatever it is Apple decides to release next year.

Reading through the thread I noticed a definite bias rolleyes.gif

It's hard to get a good feel for the Nexus 4 though - is it even sold in brick & mortar stores?

The Nexus 4 sold out after 30 minutes in the Google Playstore and it seems to have have been the same for other countries. Normal shops should start to have them in soon but you'd have to ask someone who works there or send the company an e-mail or something to know for sure.

One thing to think about though is that if you've already paid for quite a few applications on the Appstore you won't be able to access them on the Nexus. I don't think you can make a bad choice either way though, they're both good phones.

- Better app ecosystem
Nexus 4:
- Cheap (note that I'd be getting an unlocked iPhone 5 should I choose that route, so no carrier subsidies either way)
- Real maps
- More freedom
I don't think either iOS (outdated UI) or Android (lacks hardware-specific optimization) is great, so other than the things I mentioned above I have no preference for one or the other.

I would opt for the Nexus 4. It's a beast and it's overall nice. The problem with the iPhone 5 is that in less than a year, Apple will release the iPhone 5s which will be just slightly better and in 2 years time the iPhone 6. With the Nexus 4, you'll at least have a decent amount of longevity and the community will constantly ensure that new versions of the OS and custom roms and themes are available. That's one thing Apple can never have. Everyone has the same stock OS and the only thing you can really do is Jailbreak.

To me, Android is worth it all the way and the Nexus 4 is great.

As far as LTE goes though, do you live in an area with LTE? I don't so to me that's not a factor. Well, we have Verizon LTE but not on any other network just HSPA+.
