DIAMOND Radeon HD 7850 7850PE52G vs 7850PE52GV2 is there really a difference?

I was checking prices and saw this other DIAMOND Radeon HD 7850 card and it seems the only real difference is in its port setup and the fact that it has 2 fans. It looks like it is an updated version of the normal card i was going to get, but besides the ports/fans it there even a difference between the two? And should i go with the newer one or the original?

7850PE52G (planning to get) original

7850PE52GV2 (just found) newer

Thanks

The original looks to be reference design while the second card is printed on custom PCB made by either HIS, Sapphire or Diamond. Also a different mounting process for the heatsink. Realistically they'll perform the same and I bet the new one could overclock a bit better judging from the cooling solution. Both support Crossfire.

Why not buy my 7870 for $205 shipped tongue.gif It's less than 2 months old - hasn't been registered and it's quiet a bit faster. It's reference design but on custom blue PCB w/ IceQ cooler. I've been a member on this site for 4 years and have +16 trading rep and +2 on my heatware. Shoot I could ship it out tonight if I where to receive the payment before 7PM lol.

Well I'll think about it do you have a pic?

Do you still have the instruction manual/box and what ever came with the card?

Also the IceQ cooler im not really familar with, isn't it for helping keep it cool when crossfiring or something?

Thanks

It happens to be but it's a fantastic cooler that runs super quiet. One of the best.

Yes - it sucks air in from both directions. Idles at 27c maxes at 54c Here's a picture:http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/h...e/100_2027.jpg

The new Diamond 7850 is definitely not a reference design but i'm willing to bet the cooler on the newer one performs better while producing slightly more noise.
