This guy riplocked?

This one is not riplocked according to this review : CLICK HERE

What they tested though is not the OEM version but this version: CLICK HERE which basically includes CyberLink's Blu-ray Disc Suite. The one you chose doesn't come with software and won't work with PowerDVD but should work with the Cyberlink software.

EDIT: Here are both drives at the egg being sold: LG BR burners the more expensive one comes with the software while the less expensive one is the one you quoted above.

If you have a way of procuring Cyberlink's Blu-ray Disc Suite for cheap then get the cheaper burner.

I would personally opt for the BH14NS40 versus the WH14NS40 just so I'm sure I get the right software for the drive.

so the cheap lg i linked to doesn't have riplock? My budget's been cut down a bit.. I'm probably going to end up with the Liteon cause of budget.

Yup the OEM or cheaper LG doesn't have riplock just like the full packaged one.
