Dont ever try to dispute a transaction with Valve/Steam through PayPal. Your account will be banned. - Page 6

I got my account hacked once during Summer sales last year. They responded within 24 hours & restored it.
24 hours!

Plus I wasn't able to see my STALKER COP CD key in the steam account. They responded within a week.

I was talking to my friend yesterday about the whole situation where people were getting black ops 2 install discs that were actually burnt with mass effect 2. He asked me "Who buys game boxes now days, anyways?" - I want to point him toward this thread.

I completely agree with the OP on this. We do NOT own these games and we *really* need to be careful because at any time our accounts and games that we spent hard earned money on can be taken back at any time.

One thing I've always been afraid of with steam.. we don't actually own the tangible product.

As to owning or not owning the games, I cannot comment. But one thing I have learned is this: use a credit card exclusively. Do not give anyone paypal; that, be it by proxy or not, gives the vendor access, to a limited extent, to your bank account. Never buy "steam wallet" money either. Keep your cash right where it is.

Sure enough, you got bit here OP.

When I buy games it's never steam/origin or whatever platform is there.

Seems they consider a "charge back" as payment fraud.

Take this to reddit/r/gaming, or r/gaben and watch how fast Valve helps you!

Well, I just want to put my 2cents.gif here:
I would generally avoid doing complicated transactions, especially with a compagny like Steam that has an half-assed attempt to do customer support in case of problems.
As a general rule, "I have money" or "I don't have money". I never split up electronic transactions.

Also, technically, I should own one of my games on my steam account, because I bought the skyrim box in-store.

What issue remains? Steam seems unwilling to let you change your payment method, so have stopped responding to that issue.

I think your best bet would be to see if you could just get the purchase canceled, so you can make it again properly.

Gabe says he reads all his emails, so you could email telling him to get better support tongue.gif. Don't bother going into specifics since I doubt he'd do anything to your specific ticket, but something like "Your support doesn't let me make changes to payment methods recently after a purchase, YOU (insert totalitarian regime here, in all caps)"
