If they lock you out of your account for a payment dispute or chargeback, do a payment dispute or chargeback on EVERY game you ever bought on Steam.

This difference is true. But a user could have an account for 8 years and still have less games then a 2 month user. The content on the account is what matters, as you pointed out.

Just tried in case it works now, I get the message "steam support has suspended this account" and still can't log in. I'm not going to try to get another account banned to see if you have to be banned recently tongue.gif.

they shouldnt have charged your card..but standard practice is to consult the seller before disputing with paypal

I've contacted Steam's support before. Never had a issue. I've sent emails on Friday evenings, and gotten a response Monday morning. They don't work on the weekends, and they only work 9-6 shifts IIRC.

Every time I've needed to contact them, my emails are responded next business day. Not once have I had a issue in fact.

I got Tech Joey who I can only assume is a disgruntled employee or on a power trip or something. I finally got a response to the first issue- took 10 full days. 10

Valve did the correct thing you should have sent Valve the support ticket and given them a little time to help you. Instead you got there attention the wrong way. Drop the dispute with Pay-Pal and give Valve a change to fix it. That is what you should have done in the first place. Valve customer service is really quite good it just takes some time but they will do what they can to fix the problem.

So Valve stole money from me, threatened an account ban unless I dropped the paypal dispute- something which they agreed to allow by signing up for the service and allowing that payment method. Yet Valve is the one that did the correct thing...

The other dispute took 10 days before I got a reply, I dont think it would have been reasonable for me to wait that long to have a refund initiated where they screwed up.
