Yeah, it has to be installed.

Having the corners blocky doesn't change the performance or airflow of the case. Its just ugly without a good reason. Your statement would be true if someone didn't like the bulge on top because it's designed that way for clearance.

I used to own a 932 and so comments that the HAF series aren't pretty are typical. Pointing out frivolous or minor things to prove yourself doesn't really lend to your argument. You're overall not happy with the case's looks? That's all you have to say. Cooler Master didn't go out to make this a good looking case like the Cosmos ii. You want a pretty case, go look at the Cosmos II.

There's no perfect case and pointing out a corner is not "pretty" or bulgy, or blocky (are all cases square shape to some degree) is just nit picking. As I've said, I know the criticism of the HAF cases so its not unusual for ppl to whine its ugly. Don't like? Move on, its that simple wink.gif

I don't think anyone could have made it simpler than you have in both your posts.

+2 internets for you sir. Very well said.

Now someone give me a reason to buy one.

I'm tempted to get one just to play with it and then sell it used.

You can have both. look at the DD extended air box. That one had good looks and good airflow; they are not mutually exclusive. They could have made this one have some windows or something without seriously affecting the airflow.

Cooler Master mass produces cases so they can make lots of them to fulfill several niches. They have the money, they can do it. DD was a custom case builder (I had their DW21) so they have to appeal to a more general audience rather than a particular segment.

Also, Cooler Master can produce hundreds of cases and can thus have a lower msrp. Where's as DD didn't have that capability so there was a more inherent cost to their cases.

Its hard to compare the two cases your suggesting because they're coming from different companies with different targets, capacities, capital, and goals/targets.

Think of the HAF series like Jeep Wranglers. They're not the prettiest thing in the world but they are specifically designed to do some good (off-road). Now, you can always go with a Grand Cherokee SRT8 for "different" experience (albeit its more expensive wink.gif) yet you still have some of the capabilities of the Wrangler while having something different.

Different strokes for different folks.

You don't understand the case market very well, it's not a high profit market.

Even for the big players like Silverstone, Antec, Cooler Master, & (I'd argue now) Corsair; you can only add so many SKU's to the market before you start to confuse people or over-saturate to the point where your brand becomes obscure.

Who was that directed towards ? I'm now interested in this argument.

I'm not concerned if cases are the profit makers of a company or not. I'm merely a consumer not a manager wink.gif I'm pointing out the DD and CM are two different companies and have different goals in mind with the respective cases being pointed out.

Does a consumer get brand-confused? It happens all the time. I know Corsair is newest player to swamp the market with a lot of mid-towers. Good move or not? Only time and the #s will tell.

Btw, you didn't quote anyone so I'm not sure if your comment was targeted at me cheers.gif

I don't think comparing DD and CM is a valid argument in any case.. No pun intended
