I can state sarcastically how unimpressed I am whenever I feel like it. Too bad people are just too busy idolizing corporations (in general) to see that from the consumer standpoint this thread belongs in the rumors section. But whatever, go love your daddy's PC company and leave me alone if I *don't hate but decide to be unimpressed.*

Count how many posts here actually say something besides "I wuv IBM" or "why do you hate IBM!?!?" and then you can start counting wise men.

You know why I find you funny? Because, after a week and a half after your last post, you come back into the thread and see that no one has talked about you. So, you decide to stick yourself in the spotlight again and say something stupid so that people will respond to you. And how you think this belongs in the rumors section is beyond me. I guess when you invent a chip that has watercooling integrated into the die, then you can scoff off such an achievement. All the ridiculous things that have been posted in the "news" section that shouldn't be, and you try to make an argument that this should not be in the news section?? wth.gif I agree with DiNet

wth.gif big business was on its way out? I guess companies like Samsung, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Honda, Toyota, Ford, Intel, Cisco, IBM, etc...should all be notified that they're on their way out...rolleyes.gif

I am not going to comment on the tech as it is beyond me - although it sounds impressive. But I will agree with this post though - this person decided to voice his opinion against the tech - right, wrong or indifferent - and gave a reason (again, right wrong or indifferent). Out of the few, only Duckie Ho and a couple more gave some outstanding reasons for or against why this innovation is good. The rest of you are just bashing this guy and the joining on the 'I wuv IBM bandwagon'.

Yea I admit I only skipped through the video to get a jist of it at first. So just to be a smartarts I will say "there wasn't anything to read" but you are right.

Since that post, however, I have gone back and watched it in it's entirety and found that while most of this points to innovation, I will state 2 flaws (so you can see why I hold my position, not to hate IBM):

1. It's vague, on all topics, and
2. All ideas mentioned are not complete innovations in that they all are more or less upgrades of existing tech.

That said, I will admit that I cannot claim to have thought of any of this first. Maybe I would have if I was being paid to do so, but anyway, props to IBM for that.

And I make no bones about my weariness for major corporations (in general). So don't take it personally, IBM lovers.

That's pretty close to the definition of innovation.

Who cares. We've used up almost 15% of our lithium deposit in 20 years. Thats for the entire world. Saw a movie on it and how that was a backbone for the war on iraq(which has the largest lithium deposit in the world, succeeded by afghanistan rolleyes.gif). Lithium is by far, the most precious natural substance and in turn, the most valuable. And people just throw their batteries away...lol. I have over 500 of my previous lithium batteries including phone, rechargable batteries and such. Technically i am rich....maybe not now, or in 5 years, but 30 years from now? And I know you're laughing thinking im some stupid hippy, conspiracy theorist and i've been hoarding these batteries for no reason.

Now I'm getting sigged. Guess I'll have to go down with the ship on this one.

Quote:
Innovation differs from improvement in that innovation refers to the notion of doing something different (Lat. innovare: "to change") rather than doing the same thing better.

How you could derive a shift in implementation of any of the tech described here rather than a logical and progressive improvement is beyond me.
