My 3,000th post

Thread Starter

First of all HUGE THANKS TO THE OCN Community for making me want to post in this beautiful thread often and get into conversations.

I used to own a PS3, sold it and bought a gaming laptop in April 2011 but was not happy therefor decided on a desktop PC in October 2011

Man I knew NOTHING about PC components. I was this guy

Get the best GPU

get the cheapest motherboard possible

don't pay too much for the CPU as GPU matters only

Get the cheapest PSU as it wont impact gaming

Get as much as Rams possible

Forget about SSD, just get an HDD with the biggest harddrive

No need for soundcard as motherboard does it same

Get a keyboard with thousands of Macro keys

Get the cheapest 1080p monitor around, afterall they are all going to be 1080p

etc... etc...

So  it shouldn't be hard to imagine that I am only keeping my DVD writer, HDD, speakers and rams from my build in November 2011. EVERYTHING ELSE CHANGED in time because I did a poor choice of selecting the best components. Thanks to the people here in OCN, I am a proud owner of my sig rig and loving every minute of it.

And as time evolved, I became the guy who helps people.

Lol, kidding fella, I've seen you around and you seem to be making a nice impact. You still screwed up on your PSU though.

Hahahah...Yeah I will change the PSU for sure. Forgot to add that PSU is still from my 1st build lol :) I will get a nice corsair one soon with higher efficiency. thumb.gif

It's not that at all to be honest, i'ts just complete overkill for your setup.

You could get a nice seasonic x750 which would give you room for Xfire/SLi, the HX or AX 750.

Hell you could look at 650w psu's.

I know, I know very well.

I would like to "thank" to the dealer who sold me that PSU. I said I was thinking of going for 570 SLI in the future ( at the time I had a single 570 with intentions of getting a 2nd one. But funny story the motherboard they sold me was also only Crossfire compatible. Not SLI but that's a different story ) Any how He said, than definitely look into 1200W PSUs. I was like OK because I trusted him but thanks GOd they did not have one with 1200w and a quiet fan. So I got a 1000W with a quite fan. The guy also said that it would still be better to get the 1200W one but I insisted on quite fan model so I got the 1000W one.

Oh well....

I probably wasted an amount of a current 690 GPU because of wrong choices and selling those wrong choices 2nd hand. I am smarter now. Well I hope I am biggrin.gif
