Logitech G9x on Sale - grab it?

Thread Starter
Look like newegg has a sale for the Logitech G9x for $63 w/ promo code (regular $103)

Worth grabbing at this price? Or are other mice better for around the same price range (Deathadder?) - i dont mind waiting..maybe the DA will go on sale come Black/Cyber/Boxing day?

I believe the DA is like $60 regularly...could drop down to $30 or $40 during sale season

regular price for that nowadays (maybe $10 cheaper) but... Amazon has it for $54.99 currently with free super saver shipping.

the g9x is my current mouse and I love it! take the acceleration to 0 and it's very good for most anything. I recommend it if that's the style you're looking for!

ooooo... I see it's 64.99 then there's a $10 off code so 54.99 (which matches amazon and makes more sense now). that's how much I paid for it as well. I still recommend it though it does come down to that price every now and then. in that case get it from newegg as they have the price guarantee in case a better deal happens during black friday.

I would hold off on buying Razer products for now due to the whole fiasco with their software.

As for the G9x, it's an excellent mouse. The middle wheel button is rather hard to click, but everything else is great.

However, that isn't much of a sale. I got mine at Fry's for about $60, and that was a year and a half ago. You should be able to find a better deal somewhere else or at some other time.

You dont need any software to use the deathadder. If you want to change the CPI, you can alway use the legacy drivers.

Well, if you don't use software, then you're using a dumb mouse and may as well go for a $4 Dell mouse-shaped-object.

Yes, this is the ONE TIME you use the driver disk that comes with the mouse. The new software apparently forcibly upgrades your mouse's firmware and does bad things (not sure for Deathadder).

You missed the point. The deathadder is not popular because it have tons of features (that are drivers dependant, which would then make sense), but rather because it host a sensor that is prediction and acceleration free.

You dont need to have the drivers installed to be able to use this feature, since it's hardware related.
The side button also work fine without the software.

Now, if we talk about their other mices, it become a different story. The synapse 2.0 software is crap, from my experience.

I'm not trying to argue here.

In addition to above, I would like to mention that the G9x has a 5% acceleration, but this isn't really discernible.

I second that. Pair it with a dark, hard pad and you will have great results, unless you are being picky.

Would've been easier if you had just mentioned that the DA has legacy drivers.
