Gigabyte voltage jumping all over the place

Hi all

bought a gigabyte z68-apd3 mobo, installed it with a 2600k. Currently folding at 4.6ghz with 1.43v set in bios, I tried using LLC levels 4,5, 8,9,10 but they all make my voltage jump miles over or under what I set in bios. Currently using level 6 as I thought that was best, but looking at cpuz now my voltage for cpu is jumping all over, its set at 1.43v in bios, now its going from 1.44-1.45-1.488v.

What the hell? Is there some other setting Im missing? ive only changed CPU voltage, dram voltage, disabled c1e EIST and enabled LLC.

Do you have the latest verison of your BIOS, I know that most boards have had a similar sort of issue and a BIOS update normally sorts it.

However your settings appear to be good with the exception of that is a lot of vcore for that overclock.

I will try to update bios, its hard to believe a brand new motherboard comes shipped with a bios thats 3 generations out of date doh.gif

Also I tried 4.7ghz with 1.43v but prime95 two workers failed after a minute...

The first thing I do with all hardware is update the BIOS if I can. To be honest you need to remember that when they make these boards they don't think "oh i'll update this now so the end user doesn't have to" they work on the theory that is the procedure that's been tried and tested. They just want to build it, ship it and know that it'll work.
