Hello OCN, its time to build in my Bitfenix Prodigy! I call it ''Clementine'' and i wanted to share it with you.
It is more a build log than a work log as i am not gonna mod much on it. I will color change it, change the front, change the feet, cut a windows or two and finally probably cut in the mobo tray so my psu cables can breath a little. I would like to do more, i will see how the budget goes.

This build will also be watercooled, Anyway, without further ado, i' showing you a rough sketch up of my project:

You probably guessed with the name, the case will be orange. Powder coated to be a little more precise.

My parts selection is almost done, couple thing im still unsure, couple thing i still need to watch review but so far thats about it:
As you can see below im using the new EK series as i really like it, will also use Mayhems Gigabyte Orange Coolant.

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k
RAM: AVEXIR Core Series - Orange

Compression fitting: Monsoon 16/10mm (ID 3/8" OD 5/8") - Matte Black
EK-FC Bridge SINGLE - Plexi
Tubing: XSPC 3/8 ID 5/8 OD High Flex Tube 1ft - Clear
Radiator: Magicool Dual 120mm
Radiator: Magicool Single 180mm
Coolant: Mayhems Gigabyte Orange

Sleeving: Corsair AX Professional Individually Sleeved Modular Cable Set - Orange

Custom case feet
Custom front
Custom Top
Custom fan grills
Custom pump box
Custom doors

and probably much more

Of course feel free to share your opinion/suggestion on my parts list as im kinda looking for input.

Alright so lets start with the case! First i had to strip it down to make it ready for the sanding.

Every part is now sanded and clean. Ready for the powder!

Color actually came very nicely, almost perfect!

Time to assemble it and see how it look.

As i said, the paint is beautiful and i'm very happy with the result. Time to build in it, i will start ordering part 25th of this month so hopefully i can get this build going by the end of this month or around it. I hope you like it so far and thanks for reading!

Feel free to share your opinion on my part selection, if you have suggestion or something please comment it below!

Stay safe and happy modding!

Hello DizZz, first thanks for your suggestion on the 660ti, i will look further into it! And to answer your question, it took me a very long time. Got my Prodigy on the first shipment at ncix.ca and then powdercoated it the same week. After that i started to build in a switch 810 so my prodigy returned to his box. Now that i have the appropriate funds for it the project is coming back to life!

Good luck with your Prodigy build and keep us updated about it on the Prodigy Owners Club here on OCN

Looks excellent!!!!!

Keep in mind the 660Ti though has less of the memory bandwidth though. Overclocking or not you have to deal with that......depending on what games you are intending to play I guess.

Hello Digikid, thanks for your comment! Well this rig will be my main rig once completed, so i am willing to pay a bit more for my GPU. I am really considering a 670
My criteria is rather simple, it has to work with CSQ ek waterblock and be in my budget (less than 400$) thats about it lol. I also prefer EVGA over other company.
*currently working on finding the right GPU*

Get an EVGA Reference 670 and WC it. They are small cards without the shroud on them.

The EVGA Reference 670 you are talking about will be compatible with this waterblock?

Thats the block im looking for and will chose the card from the block.

if $400 is your budget, i would go with a 7970 since that is the best price per performance ratio card out right now, but i do realize some people will only buy nvidia cards. here are your best 2 options for graphics cards:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130787

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202008

Also, if this is going to be your main rig (im assuming you do stuff other than gaming as well) you might want to look into getting a 2600k or 2700k instead of a 2500k since the use of ht is extremely beneficial in a wide variety of tasks (video editing, multitasking, etc.) you can get a 2700k for $220 so its basically a steal and will be more future proof than a 2500k.

i was just browsing around newegg and came across this memory which i think would be perfect for your build. it's fast and matches colors perfectly

First, the ram you posted is exactly the one i initially wanted! I already have the AVEXIR Core Orange (which are super binned reviewer ram/got 2333 easily with a pair of 1600) and thats why i decided to go with them. BUT if im still in budget once most of my parts has been bought, there is no question about it i will get these G.Skill Ares as i can see it'll look beautiful in my Prodigy.

Second, yes i will not only game on this computer so looking at the 2600k is actually a very good idea. Looks like the price difference between the 2500k and 2600k isnt huge.
I initially wanted a i5 3570k Ivy Bridge but i read that ivy and z68 doesnt pair well together so decided to go Sandy bridge. Keep in mind that i already have my mobo so i dont want to buy another at this point, it will put me out of budget. I will look into the 2600k.

Honestly about the GPU, Nvidia or AMD it doesnt really matter for me! I really wanted the block i posted in the previous post (kinda going for esthetic) but i will think about it and see what i really want/need.

Once again, thank you very much for your comment/suggestion!

Hello jsocontrer01! Welcome on OCN and Thanks for your comment!

The paint is actually a powder paint.

Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form. The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin". The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. From wiki

The process on my prodigy is rather simple

First, Parts has been thoroughly cleaned. This is done utilizing liquid degreasers & cleaning solutions. Once everything has been Sand Blasted, Parts will then be Steam cleaned and Phosphated.
After that it is the conventional process and the oven, etc.

If you chose to go this route, which i suggest as the result is amazing, you should be aware of couple things. Powdercoating is thicker than liquid paint so you might have trouble reassembling your case,. You need to ''plug'' the hole, What hole? Every hole you dont want to be filled by powder. Also you cant powdercoat plastic due to the heating process. Anyway i think i covered the base but if you have any question, feel free to let me know and i will try to answer with the best of my knowledge!

Cheers!
You are welcome! If you are planning to build in a Prodigy, i suggest you check this thread: Bitfenix Prodigy Owner's Club, you will find many information.

Couple pictures of the motherboard, which is a Zotac Z68 mITX

I think its a pretty solid board with good features. NCIX.ca is actually selling them for 112.80$ (Its a 53$ instant rebate)
If you have any question about the board, feel free to ask and i will try to answer as soon as possible! Thanks for watching.

Thanks Editor22! I really think it'll look great so stay tuned!

For now, here's couple pictures of the ram i will probably be using for the build. It's an AVEXIR Core 8GB DDR3-1600 CL9 Memory Kit.
This is a Kit i previously reviewed and let me tell you its a pretty piece of hardware. If you want to read my review you can do it here

Heres a video of them in action!

If you have any question concerning the ram, just comment it below and i should be able to answer you!
Thanks for watching and don't forget to tell me what you think so far!
