I havent owned a high end graphics card before but have saved the money to get one for my new build.

Any thoughts on this one?

Get the sapphire 7970, those XFX DD coolers VRM temps aren't so good.

I really liked my XFX Reference 7970 - it could hit 1150/1600. But if you have the money - then spending a bit more on a Sapphire Vapor-X isnt a bad idea.

See what you can find come Black Friday/Cyber Monday

Go for the Sapphire Vapor-X, it's a better card.

I would go with any one of these 3 over the XFX

The last one being my personal choice just cuz of the price and the fact that I am going to slap a waterblock on it anyway

If you are going to stay air and want it to be quiet then either the sapphire or the HIS would be better choices

There is no logic argument to get a 670...get a 7950 for same or better performance at a lower price with three free games to boot

That would be going in the wrong direction. 7970 GHz eat GTX670 for breakfast. Unless it's a money issue or you are just liking green more then i really can't suggest 670 over a 7970... not even a 680.

You are getting a 670 now? I got a 670 for $400 when they first came out and if I had to make a decision between a 670 and 7950 based on current prices and performance, the 7950 would easily be my top choice.

I would probably even get the 7950 if the 670 was priced the same as a 7950
