Distilled+silver kill coil. my tubes are all solid black, and my reservoir has LED lights so it glows blue by itself, no need for dyes/special coolant.

So to answer you PCModderMike it was something done when Water cooling was in its main stream infancy ...
I don't believe there is anything wetter them water so I see no reason for anything else thumb.gif

You've given the the most important reasons for it's use

Automotive coolant and distilled water are the only liquids i will ever use in any of my systems. I've seen other fluids come and go and see no reason to change.

I started water cooling in my 30's and turned 50 this year.

One of my rigs has distilled water + silver kill coil, the other is just distilled water.

Unless you are going for a look with colored coolant, spending more than what a gallon of distilled water costs at the grocery store is just silly stupid. tongue.gif

I understand, unless your PC is getting awards at Low Rider PC Events keep with whats easier to maintain. Funny story on the coils! We started getting our own Coils from a silversmith and he was and is very confused as to why we wanted 3/16" wide strips of 999 pure sliver for computers! He is still scratching his head! HAHAH!
