Thread Starter
I need some help with a PSU for my new build which will have ONE GTX8800 graphics card. I was wondering if the Seasonic M12 Modular 700W http://www.seasonicusa.com/m12.htm http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=CA-007-SS would be ideal for for my build? Im not really good with all this Amp stuff

Build so far:-

Thermaltake Armour with side fan
C2D E6000
ASUS P5B Deluxe
Ram - Undecided brand but atleast 2GB+ (vista)
GTX8800 (DX10)
2X SATA HDD (Raid 0) - Undecided brand
2X DVD Writers
Floppy

There will be some USB devices aswell.

Thanks in advance!

The 4 rails with only 18A isn't the best for this sort of thing.

Unless you're going SLI with that GTX I wouldn't recommend getting a 700w PSU

Corsair HX 620W £104.56 Inc VAT
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=446787

EDIT:

750W Etasis ET750 £111.61 Inc VAT
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=473322

I'd take the Etasis over the Corsair anyday

It would do the job but the Seasonic M12 is considered one of the top 3 PSUs available today, I would definitely get that instead.

Don't be fooled by the 18A per rail, it's all just one big rail but the newest ATX specifications state that the max load per rail can be 18A so some manufacturers just split it up into rails so they can get certified, it's all the same.

This is where it gets complicated I hear one thing then hear something totally opposite. A PSU is the next thing i want to get in my list so i need to make sure all is good 100% Need juice for the graphics card for sure If my first choice of the Seasonic M12 Modular 700W is good then why change!

The 700w M12 is usually pretty expensive compared to the competition, the Etasis is an amazing PSU manufacturer, most def. ranked up in the top 5

While the M12 is a great PSU, it's £35 more the Etasis which IMO is not worth it

How quiet is the Etasis ET750 750w compared to the Corsair HX 620?

Does the Etasis ET750 750w have a combined 12v rail like the Corsair HX 620 has or are they all separate?
Etasis uses an 80nm fan so it isn't as nearly as quiet as the HX620 but even if it used a 120mm fan, nobody can match Seasonic when it comes to silence

Neither Corsair or Etasis have single rails, the Corsair has 2 and Etasis has 4
