Should i buy 2x Amd Radeon 6990s from Ebay for $420?

Well today i was browsing threw Ebay and found a person selling 2 Diamand 6990s with all the neat accessories for $420 with a decent DOA protection. I am wondering if i should get this instead of a Amd Radeon 7970 for $399 on NewEgg. which would give me more bang for my buck? tongue.gif

The Seller has a pretty good record and i trust ebay buyer protection soooooo.......wat do u guys think? biggrin.gif

It would easily outperform the 7970 but it will put out tons of heat and use crap loads of power. It your choice but I would never run 2 6990's thumb.gif

If you have the power supply to support them, you will be very happy, but not all games will support crossfire, especially quadfire.

6990's will be faster when they work, but at a huge expense of power consumption and heat, and probably compatibility headaches.

Personally I.would go for a couple of 7950's on black Friday. which should be around $500 according to currently vocal sources. that would be your best bang for buck with much less drawbacks.

You'll get higher frame rates but you'll have to deal with:

heat
noise
power consumption
poor crossfire support in some games
less-than-great driver support (quad-gpu drivers are problematic from both sides of the isle)
marginally better DX11 performance (single 7970 easily > single 6990 with a lot of tessellation and stuff)
