But then again, I'm not into LARP's.

Thanks for your snap judgement. I didnt' know what a LARP was but it isn't one of those:/ It is a grand strategy MMO using Google Earth and plugins. Similar to EvE online on a planet and has been going for years. The concept is exactly the same, or similar, which is why i brought it up. Thanks for trolling me though frown.gif

I'm actually surprised that there isnt an MMO already with a map BIGGER than the 'real world'. I'm guessing those infinite procedurally generated games dont count.

Looks epic, imagine if I was hacking a node at the same time as another person, most awkward stare-down ever.

I thought that Minecraft was supposed to have an area bigger than the Earth?

i think minecraft is infinite so long as your computer can handle it... not sure how much ram you'd need, and it does unload chunks of map data so perhaps it could happen without much resources anyway.

You'd need to mod it though inorder to "see" a whole map the size of or larger than the world- simply because traversing the whole world (or an area that size) would take a LONG time. Even in creative mode.

I think it would be funny and exciting, not awkward.

My wife's BFF is heavily into LARP. I can just picture her BFF and her LARP friends walking up to these locations with chainmail, swords, shields, bows, arrows, and a smart phone to capture and defend their portals. Trust me, they would do it to. Oh the youtube videos are gonna be hilarious.

Not everyone is too lazy to get out and move around to be part of a game.

...it has nothing to do with being lazy...are you serious? I work incredibly long hours during the week, and I'm simply too busy or preoccupied with other things to have any desire to worry about a game while on the go. When I game, it's usually just for an hour before going to bed, at which point I won't be going out to points of interest or whatnot.

Your comment really irritates me. Considering how many posts you have on this OCN, I'd have expected you to not be so willfully ignorant.

seriously, your average person who has a career is working 9 hours a day minimum, toss in travel time, and there goes at least 10 hours a day. I pesonally get up at 5:30am and dont get home each day until 6:30pm. By that point its time to cook, do homework, and set everything out for the next day. Sorry if at 830pm my first thoguht isnt to go out and play some game. must be that laziness.
