When do you next plan to upgrade your Desktop PC?
Generally whenever I get the itch and have the extra cash to do so.

What do you look for when selecting a processor upgrade?
I generally look at the total package for the processor, the ability to overclock is always a plus as I enjoy playing around with it.

I am planing to upgrade in a year or two because I am still fairly current.

It depends on the build and purpose. I want to do a mini ATX for my daughter using the pile driver GPU. I bought her a nice laptop with an i5 processor and beefy graphics, what a waste. She dropped it and now she gets a PC she can't drop. The laptop was way over kill. I can build a nice small PC, low power and totally capable with AMD. I believe these GPU's are the best solution for 85% of the population. I game so I go way overboard on my own but I will now build according to purpose.

When do you next plan to upgrade your Desktop PC?
I think it's good right now. Maybe in a few months I'll get a new hard drive, but other than that, I feel it's good enough.

What do you look for when selecting a processor upgrade?
Normally I look for performance, but seeing as the next build will probably be an HTPC, I'd like it to have nice graphical capabilities too! biggrin.gif

3 months. I need to get my desktop running on an SSD and increase storage. Could use a GPU upgrade so that I could upgrade my stepsons GPU performance, or go APU for his rig thumb.gif

Price/performance generally. Brand is only important to the degree that a manufacturer should support (guarantee/warranty) their products sufficiently.
