Gigabyte 970a-UD3 Questions

Hello,

Awhile back I posted about issues with running my 8320 on my 970a-g46, which I've since RMA'd and I recieved my 970a-UD3 today. Revision is 1.2.

I'm looking to get started on OCing my 8320, and looking for some good voltages to target for hitting 4 - 4.2 Ghz without turbo boost.

Also, I noticed that CPU-Z is reading my Bus at 201.35 mhz, even though it is set to 200 in the BIOS, is this normal for this board?

I'm mostly confused about the CPU-PLL Voltages on this board, so I planned to leave them on auto unless someone can say otherwise.

Also, I've noticed some people on this forum have 1.3 and 1.4 revisions of this board, is there really a big deal as to getting a different revision or are the changes mostly minor?

I also wanted to add that my CPU fan for some reason isn't hitting max speed anymore. It's the stock HSF that comes with the 8320. It used to start kicking in at around 4000 RPMs and maxing out at around 5000 when the processor hits the 50-58c range, now it's struggling to go beyond 3400 RPMs period. I've tried fiddling with the motherboard settings including cool n quiet, disabling/enabling fan management to no avail. If I can't get the fan speed back up I won't be able to stress test it, and speedfan will not work, nor AMD Overdrive, the fan is greyed out, it did display before, and showed the RPMs, but when I changed the speed it did nothing, even when lowering it.

Thanks!

Edit: I'd like to add that I've partially solved the issue with the heatsink fan, It's thermistor controlled, and I'm trying to get it back into working position and made a separate thread in the CPU section

Kick the CPU PLL voltage to 2.695v. It'll allow you to get the same clock for less CPU volts.

As for setting examples, refer to here, we have a list of OCs in the OP: http://www.overclock.net/t/1318995/official-fx-8320-fx-8350-vishera-owners-club

Got it, once I figure out the issue with the bus I'll give it a shot smile.gif
