Apple: Jack of 3 trades, good at advertising.

Did you see anything in my post about Apple? Seriously?

Certainly this list is debatable, but lets not act like Google hasn't produced plenty of flops and unwise decisions:

Success!:
Google Search
Google Maps
Chrome
Android OS
Gmail
Youtube (acquisition)
Google Docs
Google Earth

Failure:
Google TV
Google Buzz
Google +
Google Video
Google Wave
Google Audio Ads
Dodgeball.com
Jaiku
Google Notebook
Google Catalogs
Google Print Ads
Google Page Creator
Google Answers
Google News
Google X
Google Web Accelerator
Google Coupons
Google Voice
Google Checkout
Google News is ceirtainly not a fail, nor is checkout.

YT was the successor of Video.

what about GImages?
And GApps?
And GDrive?
And AdWords?
And GTranslate?

You're selectively picking fails.

I said the list was debatable, but my point still stands. They throw a lot of ideas against the wall and see what sticks. I'm not going to hold my breath on them providing wireless service that rivals the big boys, or even at all.

How could that possibly be legal? If Google was a phone OS provider AND service provider, could that not be considered a "path"? I think it's time for Apple to consider suing because Google could lower their prices to unmatchable levels and undercut Apple's profits.

But I will not dispute you guys have expensive stuff up there, a single Double Quarter Pounder was $6.78 when I was up there for Extravalanza, that's as much as an entire meal here.
Anyway, Canada is right next door. Google starts here, they'll probably go to you guys before the EU.
We have pretty high income tax too, (15%+)
There's no free lunch in this world

15%? Call me when you pay 33% income tax. frown.gif Stupid Sweden...

Google becoming a cell service provider won't affect Apple at all since Apple doesn't sell cellular service. And since Google doesn't manufacture handset hardware they really aren't going to impact sale prices of cell phones either outside of the cost of the OS, which I'm willing to bet is minimal.

After everything is said and done (local, state, federal of all taxes) we're right up there with 35-50% with those below the poverty level, with nationally is 96k usd.

Taxes suck, but at least your getting a lot more out of them than we are. We just get more guns!

Google Fibre was something like that, what happened?

You mean their 20% profits, while Google sell at nearly 0.01%? Boo hoo.

Google already has a pretty solid hand-hold with Android and Apps which gather a fair amount of customer data. This data is largely restricted by Carriers and Gov Compliance of FCC Regulations.

That said Carriers are allowed a good deal of freedom to research their own customers. Google was built on data mining...

I like you Google, and would love your internet, but I don't need that much Google in my life.

I use their Browser, and their OS.
I use their Email and their IM.
I use their Search and their Videos.
I use their Maps and their Docs.

They know where I live.
They know what I like.
They know what I look for.
They know what I want.

There is nothing more they could learn from me anyway, so...

Bring it on Google, AT&T wasn't mad enough at the Fibre thing, so it's time to kick em again.
