First off if you are an absolute audiophile looking for the best of the best you might be disappointed. These are only mid line and they are only around $250. Headphones such as the HD600s and others for $500+ are of course going to give you better sound and make these seem inadequate. For anyone that hasn't heard a nice pair of cans these are going to be amazing for you. First off I love the look some people call them ugly and cheap looking, I have no idea where they get that from. These are beautiful and are the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn. The first time you wear them it may feel a tiny tight, but after that they are a perfect fit and feel amazing. These headphones have velour ear pads and a very soft and comfortable leather band. The sound on them is amazing and any blips or cracks are either the hardware itself, the song quality, or the headphones are bad. I had to download some FLACs to hear a nice difference between these and my Superlux HD668b headphones. These HD598s have incredible mids and highs, the bass is also very good it's tight and has that nice punch. I wouldn't recommend these for dubstep though. The soundstage is absolutely amazing also. And you can wear them around if you are okay with the 10ft. cable, they aren't too hard to drive with an iPod or phone. If you do want to take them on the go I would recommend Power Amp for any phone, so you can play FLACs and get the nice quality that you need for these cans. If I took these on the go I might want to get an amp like an E7 or some other portable amplifier to turn them up. If you want tons of bass and don't care about the mids and highs then Sennheiser probably isn't the brand you want. I have had way to many people say that beats have more bass and that they don't let sound in, which is obviously true if you know anything about Beats and Sennheiser. I personally wouldn't buy beats and would take these over them any day. The sound quality in the HD598s are in my opinion non comparable, the beats have overpowering bass and the Sennheiser have a much more balanced sound altogether. These headphones are easily worth $300 and I would gladly buy them again, very nice pair of headphones for anyone who wants amazing quality and doesn't want to spend over the 3-4 hundred dollar mark. Great cans love the sound couldn't be happier!

Note: THEY ARE OPEN HEADPHONES. Many people complain they don't isolate sound and for that I say you don't know Sennheiser, there whole line of high quality over ear headphones including the HD600, HD650, HD700, and the HD800 are all open headphones and they will be heard by people and you will hear outside noise. So no don't plan on mowing the lawn in these. thumb.gif
