MSI GeForce GTX 680 N680GTX Twin Frozr 4GD5/OC Video Card

vs

EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Classified 04G-P4-3688-KR Video Card

Here's the deal. I want to keep these cards on air and I want to run triple sli. I do not plan on buying evbot. Which card is better for this?

Note: Classys seem to be out of stock everywhere :'(

EVBOT doesn't work on the EVGA cards now anyway, they removed the port.

So on that note, I'd go wit hteh trin forzr, They are going to be HOT on air though.

I heard the frozr are some of the coolest on air? Are the classys cooler? and with the size between them which would create the best airflow between them?

To be honest mate, anyone who drops £1200 on GPU's normally drops them under water. Incidentally why are you getting 3? 2 Would be enough for any game on the market.

I dont have the money to add another loop which would be necessary under my current setup. So these are staying on air (at least for now). I am getting 3 because i have a 27" monitor at 2560x1440, this means I need the 4gb and since im going to upgrade from my current 2gb sli setup, there is no reason not to go ahead and get tri-sli to reduce tearing. Besides the fact that my beast rig just lacks that GPU stun of 3 way sli which a rig of my quality begs to boast.

Because 3 won't give him any performance increase

Screen tearing would increase with 3 cards surely since it's the SLi itself that causes tearing in the first place. With 3 it's not going to reduce, it'll increase

I was going to say get a 7970 ghz but I see you already have a 680.

Actually 3 card sli reduces tearing. There is lots of research to support this as it buffers the frames more properly. It's not as good as 1 card but is better than 2, its one of the reason I decided to go to triple to begin with. Thats all the "performance" increase i need. I would also like to eventually add 2 more 2560x1440 monitors and run a stereo setup (future).

SLI causes stuttering, not tearing. Nvidia is usually better as far as stutter, but with radeon pro AMD might actually be better.

Anyway, the TF is probably a better cooler, but it will dump all the air into the case. So you need good airflow in your whole case to keep up. The classified cooler might not be as good or as quiet, but it dump all the air outside because it's a turbine style. So you can get away with less exhaust in your case, you still need some intake though.

Oops you are right, I was thinking micro-stutter, i had thought i remembered tearing but as it was many moons ago, i apparently mis-remembered, but here is the article: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-geforce-stutter-crossfire,2995.html

here is the vid of my current setup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JyjEDk44D4
