Upgrading to SSD but have upgraded Version of Windows?

Hi all

I am thinking of upgrading to an SSD for Christmas but I have just upgraded to Windows 8.

Here is what I want to do.

SSD Boot drive and start-up programs and stuff.

Main Drive with an SSD cache.

Is this possible.

I know that I have to format to Raid 0 in order to use Smart respone cache. (Also pc needs a good clean tbf)

The main problem is that I am running an OEM Vista, Windows 7 Upgrade and finally a last upgrade to Windows 8.

How would I then put my OS back onto the SSD as its an upgrade. The OEM vista I don't have as this is an HDD used from a old PC and I have Windows 7 Upgrade for a present.

Anyone help been wanting to do this for a year now, prices of SSD have dropped so I can now get one biggrin.gif

Thanks all

This shouldn't be an issue. You can just install Windows 8 once and then reinstall it over itself to treat the installation as an upgrade. There also is a method involving the registry and command line that isn't complicated, either, although I haven't tried it on 8.
