[MAX PC] How Low Can You Go, AMD Stock Drops Below $2 - Page 9

I just invested in them a couple week ago. Was barely over 2 at the time. To me the potential long term gains outweigh the risk. And hey, if they tank.. the stock was cheap.

As far as I know AMD is actually doing better than usual in some areas. The only thing that has gone down is their total assets - but I may be looking at 2011 statistics. According to several other sources they actually jumped from 10,000 employees to nearly 12,000 employees. Despite AMD's bulldozer flop AMD still held 20% of the x86 CPU market in 2011 which is the general norm.

This is true. In addition, even though their Assets have decreased, their liabilities have reduced at a quicker rate. They are actually in a better position financially than they were in 2008. In 2008 they had 7,672 million in assets and 7,545 million in debt. This margin has since widened so that they have 4,954 million in assets and 3,364 million in debt.

They are no where near being bankrupt or in being any major financial trouble.

Wouldn't quite say that. The world economy in general isn't in great shape.

AMD just needs to survive until their Kabini/Temash launch in 2013. Things should get better for them after that.

I would buy stocks if i would like this kind of things as it s on a low level.
I expect AMD ,based on the future products ,to go even higher than they did after the recovery in 2009.
The AbuDhabi guys will not let AMD go down i am sure about it.

Maybe the drop in stocks is for some investor to buy enough and get a high position in the board or something.Strange drop as the revenue should increase from the latest merchandise they put on the market this shopping season.

"univestable"?
whats that...
Shouldn't it be uninvestable, if it is actually a word?
At first, I kept read it as uni-vest-able, then I realize it is a spelling mistake.

Yea it's actually quite an accomplishment to get out of debt. As long as they don't go using that credit card again they should be in good shape.

That is 1.5B In the green. Say you have a payed off house worth 1 million dollars but you are in debt to a bank for 300 thousand that means you can sell your house then pay your debt and have 700 thousand left. if that makes it easier to understand

Also how fast could i sell stock? After a few years :I

he may not be exactly correct, but there was that time where AMD was easily outpacing Intel in performance.

but Conroe changed that pretty quickly.

I am sure though that it has alot to do with Intel's strategy to milk the market.
