According to several other sources they actually jumped from 10,000 employees to nearly 12,000 employees. Despite AMD's bulldozer flop AMD still held 20% of the x86 CPU market in 2011 which is the general norm.
This is true. In addition, even though their Assets have decreased, their liabilities have reduced at a quicker rate. They are actually in a better position financially than they were in 2008. In 2008 they had 7,672 million in assets and 7,545 million in debt. This margin has since widened so that they have 4,954 million in assets and 3,364 million in debt.
They are no where near being bankrupt or in being any major financial trouble.
