Yeah I've tried plugging it into a 4 pin and 3 Pin connector. It's almost like the thermistor can detect the temperatures from one side but not the other. Example: When I have the fan as Intake, the fan speed wont kick up at all, however when I set it in an exhaust position, the fan maxes out almost instantly, I keep moving the fan away and to the heatsink

However one thing interesting to note: When I touch the thermistor when it's in an exhaust position with my finger, the fan speed will decrease, and when I take my finger off, the fan speed increases again. It's almost like the thermistor isn't reaching the heatsink I guess?

the fan should be set as intake blowing air TOWARDS the CPU by default and this should put the thermistor on the bottom of the fan sandwiched between the fan and the HS. this is how yours was set up right?

When the fan was working correctly, yes it was. It's possible that maybe it got knocked back a bit either when I was switching motherboards, or when I took it out of the case, or wiggled the fan through normal usage/testing/etc which is why I bent it forward originally

how about the 4-pin connector? have you checked to make sure all the connections are still good???

Yeah it looks like its fine, out of frustration I decided to rip out the thermistor completely, and oddly enough it's doing the same thing, except the fan speed doesn't exeed 3400 now

I fixed it!

Did a dirty little hack that worked out in my favor. After pulling out the thermistor, I ripped open on the fan's casing a little bit, just enough to get inside and connect the two terminals. I stuck a pencil in between the two connectors and sure enough the fan kicked in at 100%. Then, I took some tin foil and applied some electric tape to comlete the circuit. Now I can use PWM to control the fan.

However, the CPU did spike up to 80C for a few seconds while testing everything, but it was only for a short time so I don't think any damage was done, hopefully anyway
