Which CPU should I take?

Hey.

I am planning to build a new setup instead of my old barton system. Right Now I have the following hardware:

2x512 Corsair PC3200 LLPRO 2-3-2-11
DFI LanParty UT nF4 Ultra-D

But which processor should I pick? My plan is to run a 1:1 divider (CPU/RAM) but will it be difficult if I choose a 3700+ ? and how important is it to run 1:1 ? Or should I go with a 4000+ instead?

I only want a single-core CPU because the computer is mainly going to be used in CS Source (And I have seen that the dual-core doesn’t perform so well in source).

Sry for my bad English

looking at your needs a 3700+ or an opteron 146 would do you nicely

Not much point getting the 4000+ since it overclocks just as well as the 3700+

Thanks for the answer So what about cooling? Will it be okay to go with a ZALMAN CNPS 9500 LED? My corsair ram is very high but with this fan I think it will not be a problem.

I'd get the 3700. In overclocking it actually beats alot of the opty scores. It's a great overclocker, and is also the best overclocker you can get for the AMD 64's.
