Just played 1 hour of this game on Steam. The graphics are absolutely amazing. 2x6970 with 12.11 driver and getting 55-60 fps on custom ultra max setting. No stuttering with crossfire and GPUs are maxxed out at 90-99% usage. Last time I saw a game looked this good was Sleeping Dogs on Ultra High Texture and Trine 2. This is definitely not a PC port and I am glad this is one game (the only game ever) that I pre-ordered.
The gameplay is also great and has many unique features that you haven't seen in other games. Each mission is based on scare and attachments and feel very rewarding. Th emissions are also devided into short sub-missions and can be easily restarted if you mess up.

well thats pretty good seeing you r using Thuban...cant wait to test mine

I never really “clicked” with Agent 47. I found him soulless and mechanical. At some points in my journey with him around the virtual U.S., I longed to find even a shred of human frailty or to hear a stupid joke, like in Borderlands.

Blogger entirely missed the point of the series lol. 47 is a clone that was designed for one purpose, to kill without remorse. He isn't supposed to feel anything or have humanity.

WAIT WAIT, lol ok this guy lost ALL credibility.
Quote:
Enemies emerging from cover change their height and position constantly, making them harder to hit. But I was constantly amazed at how stupid they were, unable to see me crouched with a pair of giant, silenced guns, just inches away from them. It happened time and again and was simply unrealistic and damaging to the overall experience in a game that counsels and rewards stealth. Or, on the easiest couple of levels, things were too easy. Despite my proximity to enemies and their immense firepower, they apparently couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn and missed me completely. I’ve never seen such horrible shooting.

I very much missed the mission pre-planning and specific loadouts you could choose in earlier Hitman games. You think and act on the fly, meaning you have less time to strategize and have to play and memorize scenes over and over, often failing repeatedly before completing a contract.
Quote:
There are five difficulty levels in Hitman: Absolution. The easiest, where I spent most of my time, was particularly forgiving in high-adrenaline situations, letting you stay stealthy even in close proximity to enemies and giving you a bit more time to duck and cover in a high-adrenaline shooting situation. I liked that Agent 47 has an “instinct” bar that lets him scope out important items in gameplay, lurking enemies and set up ahead of time complex, multiple-target, multiple-shot kills. The hardest level, for game purists, removes that and other on-screen tips and tricks, leaving Agent 47 solely to his own devices. It’s very, very hard to the point where I had to play some sequences over 20 times before I figured out the best shot pattern and enemy movement. I found myself timing and memorizing my way to success, which made the game less fun.

So he played the game on the easiest level and complained that it was too easy and that he missed having to plan out exactly what he was going to do with often replaying a level over and over. Then complains that on the hardest level is was boring because he had to. What the hell does this guy want? The hardest difficulty, Purist, is supposed to be just that. You are supposed to be Agent 47, PERFECT and methodical. Good greif, if you are going to write a "review" please have a clue what you are doing before hand.

Couldn't read any more after that. Hey at least he made me laugh.

Yep, the game is dumbed down a little, but the noob WILL get a lower score than the Silent Assassin. Totally my type of game.
I like it how knocking out or killing someone reduces the score, and you must hide the body to get the score back to +ve, so kill/knock-out + hide = unchanged score.

Couldn't agree more. Easy should be a dumbed down version for the noobs and hard should be crazy hard. I'm so glad this game works like that, and also the noob WILL get a lower score in this game. That delights me to an extent where I can give all my friends a GTX-690 lol
I wish there was 0 HUD in the hardest difficulty. Yes I want to aim in third person without a crosshair! After all I took headshots without crosshairs in RE5, and it was amazing. Hell I once sniped in Crysis 2 without any markings on the scope.

3856x1920 I get around 30-50FPS. Seen as low as 12FPS though, so it's hungry and that's without any MSAA but everything else ultra. Graphics do look good, a lot of detail in the world.

Performance aside the game is terrible. They've ruined Hitman and turned it into dumbed down console rubbish. Taking the game back, I want nothing to do with it. Won't be buying these games anymore. Glad I didn't buy Max Payne 3 either because if it was anything like this it would have been bastardized too. Such a shame.

From what I heard that is what "Purist Mode" is. No hud, crosshairs, etc. Looking forward to picking this up for my Xbox. Think my C2D will cry lol, starting to show its age badly lately.

What a way to give your opinion. Good thing millions of others don't think it is terrible. Pffffff I am tired of people mentioning consoles when they don't like something. Please find something new to use. It is getting so old so fast.

@ontopic: this game sounds very demanding. I thought I would be able to cut it with my gtx570. But doesn't look like it. Hopefully a patch will fix it. When oh when will companies just let go of releasedates and just publish a finished game. If it was only not a broken one.

glad to hear the game looks amazing.

cant wait to hear more about the game play itself. i read its a lot different from the previous hitman games. last fun sneaking kinda game i played was the recent splinter cell game. i thought it was too short but was cool all the new stuff they added. but the hitman games have always seems more advanced and unique in the strategies you have to use to complete each mission
