Of course you could still do it bu it would take alot more work to the door by adding the second window.
Speaking of extra work...lol Have you thought about adding the extra framing to the door instead of modifying what youve already completed?
I know it would be tons extra work, but it'd be a nice effect no?
Good job though theres alot of hard detail work there.thumb.gif
Thanks !
How do you mean the framing to the door?
I plan on making the framing in the door and that extends to the midplate. Is that the same what you mean?
I believe so.

The extra material (frame) on the door that meets in the middle to whats already made in the case.

you think a different material would be easier to work with for framing the window?

balsa wood or plastic?

If you could expose all that work on the ssd's through that small framed window man that would have been nice.

IDK, just a little idea that popped into my head that would probably be difficult. Two more tiny windows fitted to the size and shape of an ssd, with little acrylic windows in front of them. You understand what I mean? Like mount them directly to individual windows. lol just something I thought of.

Yes we are talking about the same thing I think. I will make a aluminum strip around the window that extends to the midplate.
Sorry, dont know the exact word for it.

There's gonna be 3 ssd's in total so it would be 3 more ! LOL.
Would definately look cool i think. The only thing is that you can look into the door from those windows also.
Will take it to the brainstorm sessions!

I must commend you on your results so far! Just awesome! I personally don't think the ssd window is a good idea. The motherboard and gpus along with the tubes look bio-mechanical whereas the ssd's look like, well, ssds. I think you're good with the one window showing off the 'borg cube' brain of the build.

I love your use of the old platters from dead hdds! way to get a bit more out of something that most of us would have probably thrown out.

I had this very same idea when I was doing my cosmos II mod. Not the borg theme, but the front psu and the 480's in the bottom. I guess it was just a matter of time haha! Plus rep for being the first one to do it (afaik)

Really outstanding job. You have got my vote for motm when you decide to go for it thumb.gif

Thanks !
When I was cutting the main window it just became clear. 2 windows would have been nice but it just didnt work. Didnt feel right.
Yeah I am all for using old stuff and strange materials in mods. I've got 10 meters of pvc rod coming in today for this build!
Cant take credit for the PSU, was a friend from Italy who had the original idea but it just solved so many problems that I just had to use it.
(with his concent, I credit him where ever it is applicable, as people should do!)
Thankd for the nice words mate, looking at your MKG and the work you've put into it, its high honours!

Not so spectacular work yesterday, spent most of the day planning stuff.

Did do some work though!

Location of the pump and the hole for the psu cables.
I will make a alu wall between the pump and the psu for safety

Tubing out of the pump that will be routed through the backplate into the rads

Topside air intake and tubing passthrough!

All sorts of cabling for cable management

Time to get creative on the BORG door!
Guess what's coming here ??
